Knoxville Banquet brings early Christmas to Deuce Motorsports

The Annual Awards Ceremony was held on Saturday, November 19th at Prairie Meadows Casino in Des Moines. The meal was very impressive and enjoyed by all. The Raceway staff did a great job and the presentation went along as scheduled, which made the night very pleasant.

There were 60 racers and teams recognized (top 20 in each class,305, 360, 410,or w/75% attendance).

The individual awards were presented first. (Fan of the year, Hard charger, etc.) Bart & Suzie were awarded the 410 Car Owners of the year award, a prestigious award to say the least; being recognized by the Sprint car capitol of the world! Jarrod received a set of wings in the 360 class contingencies. Josh received one of the J&J auto racing chassis kits.

The KRCO (Knoxville Raceway Charitable Organization) supplied safety gear to all drivers. Wow, what a great night for the team! 

Mayo trip yields fan-darn-tastic news

Bart has a new catchphrase he’s sharing. “I’m alive today thanks to 3 things…. My Will, My Doctor’s Skill and the Grace of God.” He and Suzie traveled to Rochester, MN on November 16th for his latest round of tests; his last checkup was 6 months ago in May. All of his results, from the CT Scan, x-rays and blood work were so good he doesn’t have to return for another six months! What a Blessing…..

Nuts and Bolts from the Bartman…..

Our 26^th season was one of the more challenging to say the least. I had used the phrase “roller coaster” at one point. The team dug deep, kept their chins up and worked hard through the ups & downs. Our “never quit” attitude, kept us moving forward.

Jarrod, Josh, & I would like to extend thanks and heartfelt appreciation to all the supporters of our team, Jack & Bonnie @ J&J Auto Racing, Manny & Dawn @ Automotive Machine, Tim & Tammy @ Engler Tool & Machine and Bob & Kathy Jacks @ BJ’s Performance. With product support from Todd @ HRP Wings, Fred & the PRO SHOCK gang, Gail @ WELD RACING WHEELS, Tom & Janie @ LUCAS OIL PRODUCTS, Kerry @ FRANKLAND RACING and Scott @ HOOSIER RACING TIRE . Also we received team support from: Midland Performance, Jocko’s Sprint Parts and  CARQUEST Auto Parts.

We are also thankful for the “Friends” group support, the efforts of the crew who spend countless hours both in the shop, as well at the tracks. A big thanks to Rich, Cale, Drew, Chad and Darren. Special recognition to Louie & Susie Plude and  Bruce & Kay Wood as well.   Happy Holidays!

While many of their tastes are different they both are die-hard racers.  Having grown up with wrenches in their hands and gear lube under their fingernails, one thing is for sure, they get their racing talent from both sides of the family!
