Bart has been driving at local tracks since 1985 when he first decided to get out of the stands and behind the wheel. Since then, the team has made numerous changes to the racing program. Their effort is and always will be to maintain a safe and competitive car.
Bart hails from West Burlington, Iowa where he and his wife Suzie have been married over 22 years. Their children, Joshua, Jarrod, and Janelle have always taken top priority in their lives; attending ball games, coaching, cheering, and even umpiring on occasion.
Deuce Racing is truly a team effort, many nights the entire family has been on hand in the pits, whether setting up the car, preparing post-race snacks, everyone has an important role. When not in the pits, the family anchors one of the largest cheering sections in the grandstands.
Bart has owned Absolute Transportation Services, Inc. in Burlington, Iowa-an auto and truck repair business-for twenty years. He has an accomplished business background and many years of technical expertise in the automotive field. He is proud of his reputation as an "honest" mechanic who truly cares about his customers.
In 1998 Bart was awarded the inaugural "Des Moines County Attorney Award of Merit" for his support of the local DARE and GREAT programs, having spent over 10 years assisting local law enforcement officers with the programs. In 1997 he was voted "Favorite 34 Raceway Driver" in the Hawkeye Newspaper Readers Poll.
Bart's other interests include fishing and baseball, mostly doing the first, and watching the latter. There is no risk involved in supporting the Deuce Racing team and their endeavors, they are proven winners who make every effort to make family and friends proud.
