![]() Josh's nickname "the Professor" came about from his constant querying about what this or that did or how something worked. Now that Bart has, for all intents and purposes, retired from driving, he crews on each of the cars, spending many hours analyzing results and strategizing set up changes. He loves the new role of technical advisor far more than he ever believed he would. Jarrod, once the lead crewman on the #2 car has moved behind the wheel, making room for several other key associate to play vital roles with the team. Darren Grimshaw considers the Deuce Racing garage his "home away from home". Day or night Darren lends his brains and brawn to the team effort. Darren's wife, Kim, wasn't a big race fan, until she developed an interest in sprint cars (and former sprint car hotties like Kasey Kahne.) Now she can be heard cheering from the stands along with the rest of the Deuce Groupies. Chad Evans joined the team in 2007 as well. He has been around racing all his life and couldn't wait to get his hand dirty helping. No matter how big or small the task, Chad is willing to be the "go-to" guy. Drew Bergquist joined the pit crew for the team in the 2007 season. He is a close friend of Josh's and has that important ability to pay close attention to detail. He has one older brother, Daniel, also a big race fan, and his parents, Don & Kendra attend every race they can. Jeff Dean also joined the pit crew in 2007. He and Josh met at college and developed an instant common bond with racing. He had been attending the races for years, but now he's hooked on all the behind the scenes action. Cale Riley, another family friend is a mutli-tasker who has helped with each of the cars during the few seasons he has been on the team. He started out this season helping Jarrod at 34 Raceway and with Jarrod's road trip along side Jesse Hocket, Cale has been drafted to assist with the 49 and 2 teams. Chris Clements has helped the team for many years, actually since before he and wife Brenda welcomed their two children, Tyler and Paige into their family. Chris and Brenda have been family friends for so long, they're really more like family. Chris says he loves the variety of the details that surround the dynamics of racing, and being involved keeps him on his toes. Doug Beaird follows the team throughout the season, he wrenches on the #2 most of the time, lending his expertise and advice about set up and performance. His children Hilleary and Dylan can be found in the pits assisting the crew on many nights leaving wife, Mary in the stands to root for the team. Dan "Cookie" Cook is a long time friend of the Schulz family and was adopted onto the #2 crew when John began piloting the #2. No matter where the team goes, or how well they do, Deuce Racing will always be grateful to Galen "Shep" Shepherd. It's Shep's fault that Bart is racing sprint cars today. Shep passed away in September of 2007 after a valiant battle with cancer. |
